Overview

Medical Solutions is hiring an Associate General Counsel (AGC). This position will provide legal support to the Company primarily in the areas of litigation, dispute management and general risk management. The AGC will partner closely with the General Counsel, manage outside litigation counsel, and provide general legal advice to team members throughout the organization.  AGC will report to the General Counsel.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-Day management of the company’s litigation, investigations and disputes, from managing and coordinating with outside counsel, to the collection and supervision of discovery, to reporting to the General Counsel on significant litigation and disputes. The AGC will drive strategy and execution on litigation matters and disputes involving the Company.
  • Conduct research and analyze legal issues, including, but not limited to, wage and hour, employment discrimination, employee benefits, and commercial disputes.
  • Work independently and with a team displaying excellent judgment and strategic thinking, and providing practical, straightforward, prompt, and business-oriented advice to internal clients.
  • Advise the company on hiring processes, including review of and advice regarding the application of and compliance with restrictive covenants.
  • Manage objections and responses to third-party subpoenas; manage response to potential legal claims; develop processes and procedures for streamlining and mitigating risk associated with subpoenas, litigation holds, and government agency requests.
  • Assist in the development and execution of process improvement, including contract management.
  • Advise as needed on contract terms, legal risks and liabilities associated with different deals.
  • Provide advice and counsel to various internal clients to proactively address and resolve current and potential disputes.
  • Provide risk management advice to business clients while supporting business objectives.

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school and an active license to practice law in Nebraska (or qualifies for in-house practice in Nebraska).
  • Superb organizational, analytical, communication, interpersonal, negotiation, drafting and writing skills.
  • Comfortable in their own skin with strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively, work diplomatically, and foster strong relationships with individuals at all levels and throughout the entire company, including outside attorneys and clients.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Familiarity with computer applications.
  • Willing to embrace and be additive to the culture of Medical Solutions.

 

Preferences:

  • 6-8 years of legal experience, including substantial experience in litigation.
  • Staffing industry, healthcare experience.
  • Experience working with insurers in managing and resolving covered disputes.
  • Experience in wage and hour, professional negligence, and employment litigation.

Pay Range

USD $175,000.00 - USD $210,000.00 /Yr.
