Overview

Position Summary

The Senior HR Technology Engineer is the technical authority of the HR Technology Operations team, serving as the organization's most advanced practitioner across HR platform configuration, system architecture, integration management, and compliance. This role is the escalation point for complex technical issues, the lead on system releases and major implementations, and a peer resource for Engineers and Coordinators who need guidance on platform decisions, access governance, and process design.

Medical Solutions' HR technology environment spans the full employee lifecycle and requires senior-level expertise across a connected platform ecosystem. The core stack includes UKG Pro for core HCM and payroll, UKG Workforce Management for time and scheduling, The Senior HR Technology Engineer is accountable for the advanced configuration, integration health, security governance, and operational performance of all HR platforms — and brings the technical depth to troubleshoot, optimize, and evolve the ecosystem as the organization grows.

This role operates with a high degree of independence and partners closely with IT, Legal, and HR stakeholders to advance the technical capability of the function. The Senior HR Technology Engineer contributes to the team's long-term effectiveness by sharing knowledge, mentoring peers, and championing continuous improvement — while remaining personally hands-on in the technical work that defines the Operations team.

Platform & Systems Leadership

  • Serve as the senior subject matter expert across all HR technology platforms, including advanced configuration, architecture decisions, and complex troubleshooting
  • Drive innovative solutions that solve current business problems and set the technical groundwork for a scalable, future-ready HR technology ecosystem
  • Lead system releases, upgrades, and major implementations — coordinating testing, stakeholder communication, and post-launch support
  • Design and maintain system access frameworks, role-based permissions, and security protocols across all HR platforms in compliance with enterprise data governance standards
  • Evaluate system performance continuously, identifying and implementing enhancements that improve efficiency, accuracy, and user experience
  • Act as the escalation point for the most complex technical issues that exceed Engineer-level resolution, determining solutions and knowing when to engage IT, vendors, or the HRIS Manager

Cross-Functional Partnership & Project Delivery

  • Partner with IT and Legal/Compliance to ensure HR systems meet organizational security, data privacy, and regulatory requirements
  • Serve as a primary HRIS representative in collaboration with HR function teammates, IT, external vendors, and other stakeholders for HR system projects and integrations
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal partners to ensure successful delivery of system implementations, upgrades, and integration initiatives
  • Contribute technical expertise to solution design discussions alongside the HRIS Solutions team, ensuring configurations are operationally sound and architecturally defensible

Knowledge, Mentoring & Continuous Improvement

  • Serve as a technical resource and informal mentor to Engineers and Coordinators; share expertise through documentation, peer guidance, and hands-on demonstration
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer-first service through personal modeling of these behaviors
  • Maintain comprehensive HR system documentation including configuration logs, process guides, and change records — ensuring documentation serves as a living, auditable asset for the team

Compliance & Documentation

  • Serve as the I-9 compliance administrator for corporate hires, manage audits, and oversee E-Verify processes for internal new hires
  • Assist in compliance audits and internal assessments related to HR technology and data practices
  • Maintain current knowledge of HR technology trends, platform updates, and compliance requirements relevant to the staffing and healthcare industry
